Orpington Cricket Club – Development
CLUBMARK
I am pleased to announce that Orpington CC has been successful in its Club-Mark reaccreditation. We first achieved Club-Mark status in 2008 and during the last two years this accreditation was renewed as a result of an annual mini-reassessment. The 2011 reaccreditation, being the 3-year anniversary of our initial accreditation, required us to once again be fully assessed against the stringent criteria that is laid down by both Sport England and the ECB.
As a reminder, Club-Mark is an official Sport England accreditation that recognises the values and commitments made by sports clubs through developing high quality, welcoming environments for young participants. |

Orpington CC was asked to demonstrate evidence of implanting procedures and practices across four themes:
- Duty of care and safeguarding children
- The cricket programme
- Sports equity and ethics
- Club management
Through the hard work of the club committee we have been able to complete this formal reaccreditation process which means we continue to be in a select band of cricket clubs in Kent. As well as Club-Mark status, Orpington CC has also been reaccredited with Focus club status, which means that we fully support:
- Focus club community programme
- Workforce development
- Player development
- Facility development
- Competitions development
- A chance to shine programme
In having both these accreditations renewed we are proving that we continue to be forward thinking and a safe environment for the enjoyment of cricket for all. These accreditations also enable us to apply for new funding that would not otherwise be available to us.
