Sachin scared as Mumbai calls for Orpington's Finest!

After an excellent season at the OCC, Wilkin Mota was selected for the Ranji Trophy Super League final alongside the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, Ramesh Powar & Wasim Jaffer whilst coming up against Sourav Ganguly.

The Mumbai captain explained clearly why the 2006 Orpington overseas player, Wilkin Mota, should bat ahead of Sachin Tendulkar in the Indian state final.

"Mota was playing as an allrounder, Sachin [Tendulkar] was batting at four and Amol was not padded. But we know that Mota batted extremely well against Punjab for his 75 and he can bat," explained Amre.

Clearly this is the official explanation only. Some [and not us here at the OCC!] would say that Sachin was afraid to go in at the fall of an early wicket and Wilks was made the scapegoat. Otherwise why would the middle order player be thrust up the order so unexpectedly?

For the record, Sachin Tendulkar has scored 10,668 test runs at 54.7 and 14,728 ODI runs at 44.22 - he has scored 76 international centuries.
