Orpington CC Tour 2010

Following last year’s successful OCC Tour, we are looking forward to having another sunny week planned full of activities and of course, some cricket.... Chris Watts and Dan Game will once again be taking on the majority of planning, and it has been decided that for the second year in succession we will be visiting Leeds, for a host of games situated in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales . . .

The tour will be held in the second week of July this year, due to Hotel bookings - ie Sunday 11th - Friday 16th. We once again intend to hire a coach and driver for the week, so that we can be driven from the OCC to Leeds and back, and to all the games as a group. If last year was anything to go by, then the journey up there alone could be well worth the price of the tour!

In order that we can confirm this tour, we need a quick and positive response from you the members. It seems that interest levels are already quite high and you should all be warned that we are limited to a maximum number of 20 people. As in previous years, the total cost of the tour will be £250 [to include accommodation, the coach, match related costs and a few other ‘surprises’]. To avoid disappointment we will require a tour deposit cheque of £100 [made payable to “Orpington Cricket Club”] to be sent or given to myself [details below]. This will act as a non-refundable deposit for the tour [assuming that it goes ahead]. The balance will need to be paid on or before 30 April 2010.

Alternatively please give me a cheque whenever you see me next at upcoming OCC socials or OCC Winter nets. If you do intend to come, but would like to pay electronically into the clubs account then please let Chris Watts or Steve Bradford know.

In the first instance to gauge numbers, it would be helpful if you could e-mail me directly to indicate whether you do or don’t want to come on tour. Whilst we expect that the 20 places will be taken quickly, a final decision on whether the tour will go ahead will be taken on 28 February – this will be based on the actual deposits paid at this point.
