OCC U13's finish Plate Competition Runners-up at Sidcup 6-a-side competition - Monday 25th May 2009


Congratulations go to Sam Coleman, Harry Graham, Joel Sanders, Tom Colgan, Dan Goodwin, George Fuller, Steve Cole and Piers Shimwell for a sterling effort in the 6-a-side competition held at Sidcup CC yesterday.

After an unsuccessful start against HSBC and Sidcup we won our last round-robin match against Dartford. We then played in the semi-final of the Plate Competition against Old Elthamians and won through to the final against Beckenham. Unfortunately, Beckenham were just the stronger team on the day and we were runners-up.

Special thanks go to Rob Graham for umpiring all our games allowing Ian to match manage from the boundary. Also many thanks to Ken Shimwell, Jill Cole, Julian Sanders and Alex Graham for staying the whole day through wind, rain and shine. It was a superbly organised day and despite the iffy weather in the morning a good day was had by all. Three boys won prizes in the raffle so all was not lost!!!!! We hope to be invited again next year so all you current U12s make sure you are free on May Bank Holiday 2010!!!!!

Well done again, lads! We are very proud of your efforts and your excellent behaviour during the day too.
