2nd October 2011 - LV sponsored run a great success

Sunday 2 October saw the inaugural LV fun-run at the OCC. Our new sponsors had kindly arranged to come and run around the OCC grounds and Goddington Park in order to raise funds for the OCC, in conjunction with a number of OCC member runners.

What wasn't expected was the weather. Temperatures in the 80s made it feel like we were in some foreign country, but the runners stuck to their task admirably. Everyone who started got round the 5km course, being clapped in over the finishing line and given their well earned medals and bottles of water. Well done to the winner Charlie Edwards (LV), but also to everyone who signed up and ran the event. A full list of the runners and finishing times can be seen below.

All in all a great turn out from LV along with our members made the event a fun day out for all concerned. In total, well over £2k was earned, monies which are all to be put towards are new 4-lane net facility. Thank you to everyone involved - that's the LV runners, the OCC runners and also everyone else who helped out behind the scenes on the day.
