New 3rd Pitch

After a 20+ year hiatus, recreational cricket will be returning to Goddington Park, with the unveiling of Orpington CC’s new 3rd pitch this Summer.

This will provide a platform for the integration of an OCC 5th XI (and hopefully 6th XI) into regional Kent League Cricket, as well as providing additional opportunities for our thriving Colts section.

The project for this new Goddington facility has been led by Orpington FC with funding provided by Sport England, who awarded funds through their Inspired Facilities legacy fund, The Veolia Environment Trust through the Landfill Communities fund, and London Marathon Charitable Trust.

While the general facility at Goddington will be maintained by Orpington FC, the new square will be prepared by Orpington CC’s existing pitch contractor, in addition to preparing our other two squares. This will ensure we can continue to offer some of the best playing conditions in the Kent area, and join a small, illustrious group of clubs who can offer 3 pitches side by side!

Also, a special thanks to the Jack Petchey foundation, who’s kind contributions to local sporting organisations have resulted in us being able to kit out the new pitch with brand new state of the art equipment, from stumps to scoreboards. Once again this is to ensure we can offer the best possible playing experience for all our members and visiting sides.
