OCC Social - Fantasy Cricket
2011 Entry Details
Following it's popularity over the previous couple of seasons, OCC will once again be running a Fantasy Cricket competition for the 2011 season.
The format is simple, you select your team of eleven from the attached list of playing members of the club and they'll receive points
depending on their performances in Saturday league games only. During the season you receive 1 "transfer" opportunity to change your whole team. A comprehensive list of the rules can be found further below.
The cost of entering is £10, most of which will be paid out in prize money. Please pay me directly, or alternatively
click here to go to OCC's standard payment instructions. Please ensure you inform me if you make an online transfer.
Use the links below to open an Excel spreadsheet entry form and a full list of this year's players, together with stats on how each did in last season's
Fantasy Cricket.
Please ensure you e-mail your completed entry form to ben.clarkson@hotmail.co.uk.
Simply completing the form when it has opened on your PC does not automatically register your entry.
DOWNLOAD PLAYER LIST HERE - This spreadsheet contains 3 worksheets, "Rules" which indicates the
scoring system also explained below. "Player list" which displays the player values. "2010 Points"
which shows player points scored last season, to help you make your decisions.
DOWNLOAD ENTRY FORM HERE - Dropdowns are available in each section allowing you to select your XI.
Please refer to the player list for complete values.
The first league game of the season is on 30th April, and entries must be received before 1pm on that date to include points from that game.
Late entries will only start scoring points from the date that they are received. So get those entries in quickly!
All scores will be automatically downloaded from the Play-Cricket website, and therefore no errors will be made providing the scorecards have been updated
correctly! A weekly update will be made available on this website every Tuesday / Wednesday.
Best of luck,
Ben Clarkson
Rules and Regulations on Team Selection
The point scoring system and team selection criteria are listed below.
Team Selection
As you'll see on the attached player lists, every player has an allotted value. This was primarily based on each player's performance in 2010, subject to
some adjustments for a variety of other criteria (e.g. injuries, availablity, division being played in).
You should select 11 players from the Player List as follows:
4 Batsmen / 4 Bowlers / 2 All Rounders / 1 Wicket Keeper
You have up to 60 points to select your side.
Points Scoring
Points will only be rewarded for performances in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th XI League Cricket.
10 points for playing
1 point each run scored
15 points for every wicket taken
15 points for every catch
25 points for a stumping
10 points for a half century
25 points for a century
25 Points for a 5 wicket haul
15 points for three or more catches
25 points for three or more stumpings
Minus 10 points for a duck
Player part of a winning side 5 points
Player part of a losing side minus 5 points
2 points for a maiden
Transfers
During the course of the season you'll be able to make one transfer. However it is a transfer with a twist, as we will allow you to change your complete
team, providing your new team still conforms to the team selection rules and points restriction. You can use this "transfer" at any point of the season. You make a transfer in the same way as you entered your team, i.e. download the entry form and e-mail you completed form to
ben.clarkson@hotmail.co.uk.
