OCC Social OCC Race Night 2010

The OCC Race Night is making a welcome return in 2010. This ever popular event will be held on 3rd Sept at the club following the Colt's Presentation Evening.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, races on DVDs are chosen at random and shown on the club's big screen. There are a variety of horse races (flat/hurdles/steeplechases; sprints/endurance etc) plus the odd fun race thrown in (previous examples include donkey derbies and piglet races).

There's the opportunity to bet on each race via a Tote system. Which means rather than betting on fixed odds, the payout on the winner depends on how much was bet on the winner compared to how much was bet in total on that race.

We also offer the chance to buy into the runners before the event. For just £5 you can be the owner or trainer. Ownership gives you the right to select your runner's name and winning owners and trainers receive a bottle of champagne.

Ownership in the last race is traditionally decided by auction, with the winning owner or consortium taking the proceeds (less a small auction-house commission). So don't forget to bring plenty of cash with you.
